Well what a year 2024 was! The last time I wrote about trends and what to expect for the coming year was back in 2021! A lot has changed in the last few years, especially in the design world. We are still seeing a few trends from a few years ago but there are a lot of new things to expect this year. First, I'll list some of the trends we have seen in 2024 - we are still seeing a few of these coming over in 2025.
2024 trends we saw
Rooms with a purpose
Bold colours & patterns
Arches
Warm tones
Wallpaper
Now, into the new trends! 2025 will be the year we see sustainability combined with functionality and wellness. We are seeing more and more people spend more time into their interior (and exterior) spaces. With this, more purposeful decisions on textiles, colours and all around interior design choices! We are already 2 weeks in and we are seeing some of these trends popping up! Here are some of those trends.
Home Wellness Spaces 2024 was a year that a lot of people got into health and wellness. We are seeing this integrated into homes in 2025. These can range from small areas for yoga, meditation spaces or even spa like bathrooms. Natural light, indoor plants and soothing colours are what will elevate these spaces and really bring that wellness feel to them.

Integrated Outdoor Living
We have always heard the saying "bring the outdoors in" and this is a take on that. We are seeing more of these outdoor spaces become one with the interior. Outdoor spaces should be as comfortable as your interior spaces! We are seeing more outdoor kitchens, cozy seating areas and purposeful zones.

Casual but Comfortable Furniture
2025 is the year of comfort. We all remember way back when when your couches and chairs were never comfortable. You'd dread having people over for lack of comfort. Not anymore. Design experts and furniture designers have taken practical and mixed it with cozy. We are seeing more deep seated chairs/sofas, oversized pieces, and rounded edges in furniture.

Reusable and Sustainable
Sustainability is the forefront of this years design trends. A lot more products are more eco friendly, either using recycled materials, or items/materials that are safe for the environment. Things such as vegan leathers, non-toxic materials and natural items (bringing that nature inside one again).

Colour Drenched Rooms/Spaces
Colour drenched walls have been around for a few years (this is when the ceiling and all the walls are one colour, usually a bold colour). However, in 2025, we are seeing this transfer into furniture pieces as well. We are using a single hue in varying shades to create a cohesive and impactful look.

2025 is going to be an incredible year for Interior Design trends. From colour drenching to more sustainable living spaces, there are so many incredible design inspirations out there. Enjoy this new year and I'll be back.
Until next time lovelies ♡
