The holiday season is upon us (I can hear Michael Bublé now) & whether you decorate as soon as Halloween is over or you wait last minute, this will guide you and give you some inspiration while decking the halls.
Adding Greenery
Greenery is a must in day to day design but adding it in unique places around the holidays is absolutely perfect. Styling with garlands and wreaths in unexpected places like around doorframes or hung on a mirror. Also, we can't forget about the most important greenery of all, the tree! Whether it is a real pine tree or one you've picked up from the store, this is the focal point of the home around the holidays.
Multiples Are a Statement
Repeating holiday elements can take your home from boring holiday décor to Mariah Carey worthy. Reputation of wreaths throughout the home, multiple trees, or a pair of décor items on the mantel.
When adding in multiples into the home, playing with proportion is key, Adding a large piece beside a small piece of the same item create dimension & uniqueness.
Christmas Tree Ornaments In a New Life
Most of the time, we use ornaments on trees, however, I love seeing/using them in a new way. Styling them in bowls, adding them to wrapped gifts under the tree or even mixed into your greenery.
Adding some lights around a window and adding some ornaments to hang create a soft piece for the crisp winter snow outside.
Red & Green but Muted
I love the original red and green Christmas colours but this year, neutrals and muted colours have been HUGE…so why not continue that into the holiday season. Moody pine/forest greens, some muted wine reds mixed with the neutrals takes.
Decorating for the holidays can be so much fun. Adding some old pieces you have around the home or heading out and buying those new pillows (Remember, Mariah Carey said it best, All I Want For Christmas Is You....so go buy that pillow).
I hope that these four holiday trends will guide & help you when it comes to styling your home for the holiday season.
Until next time lovelies ♡
